PrEP Program

Ready to take control of your sexual health? Let’s talk about PrEP!
PrEP, or Pre-exposure Prophylaxis, is a pill taken once a day to reduce the risk of contracting HIV. It’s a simple and easy way to maintain a healthy sex life combined with condom usage. When taken consistently, PrEP reduces the risk of HIV through sex by 90%. We are 1 out of 6 facilities in Mecklenburg County who offers PrEP as part of their preventative care services.  To learn more information about PrEP, click here.

Let’s talk about cost.
PrEP is covered by Medicaid and most private insurance plans. Co-pay assistance is available, and many patients with insurance pay nothing out of pocket. If you need help or do not have insurance, ask about patient assistance programs which may pay for the full cost of the medication.

Need assistance taking PrEP?
The PrEP Navigator Program provides managed PrEP primary care to patients who may need more assistance taking or managing PrEP. This short-term program provides sexual health & HIV/STI risk reduction education and medical appointment retention. Ask your provider for more information about the PrEP Navigator Program and how to enroll.
