The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD) – Immunization Services Division (ISD) awarded RAO Community Health one-time funding to increase vaccination opportunities and enhance provider partnership between vaccination providers and the community among minority populations. This will be done by:
1. Connecting local health departments, community health centers, and/or trusted healthcare organizations, including pharmacies, with communities through mobile flu vaccination clinics in high-risk and high disparity communities.
2. Advocating for specific providers or programs to deliver flu vaccinations, where patients are already seeking care for themselves or their family members.
Currently, we are reaching out to community partners, ordering additional flu supplies, and planning our approach to assure that our community is protected against the flu. Stay tuned for our community outreach/immunization calendar!
